BrightScan
Terms of Use
These product-specific terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), which also applies to BrightScan.
Using BrightScan
BrightScan is a document scanning, editing, recognition, and export utility. You are responsible for the documents you capture, import, modify, store, and share, and for complying with applicable laws and third-party rights.
Subscriptions
BrightScan may offer auto-renewable weekly or annual subscriptions. Available plans, localized prices, billing periods, and any trial terms are displayed in the app before purchase. A trial is available only when Apple confirms eligibility and the offer is shown to you.
Payment is charged through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple before renewal. You can manage or cancel a subscription from BrightScan's Subscription settings or your Apple Account subscription settings. Apple handles billing and refund requests under its applicable policies.
Your documents
BrightScan does not provide an account, document cloud, backup, or recovery service. You are responsible for exporting important documents and keeping access to any password used for an encrypted PDF. Removing BrightScan or erasing a device may permanently remove local content.
Feature limitations
- OCR and receipt suggestions may be incomplete or inaccurate and must be reviewed before use.
- A visual signature is not identity verification, a digital certificate, or a guarantee of legal validity.
- ID and passport capture creates a copy and does not verify identity or document authenticity.
- Blur is a visual effect and is not secure redaction. Use the feature labeled Secure Redact when irreversible exported concealment is required, and review the finished output before sharing.
Acceptable use
You may not use BrightScan to violate law, infringe another person's rights, distribute malicious material, or misrepresent altered documents as authentic. You must have the right to process and share the content you use with the app.
Availability
BrightScan is provided on an as-available basis. Features may change as the app is improved or as Apple frameworks and services change. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
