BrightScan
Privacy Policy
BrightScan is designed to process documents locally. It does not require an account and does not operate a BrightScan document-storage backend.
Document content
Scans, imported files, recognized text, receipt fields, annotations, signatures, QR or barcode contents, and document names are processed on your device. BrightScan does not upload this content to Ronak Vir, RevenueCat, an analytics provider, or an advertising network.
Content leaves BrightScan when you intentionally use an Apple sharing, printing, export, Files, clipboard, or external-action feature. The destination you choose may apply its own privacy policy.
Local storage and deletion
App-owned documents and derived content remain on the device until you delete the relevant document or uninstall BrightScan. A reusable signature remains until you delete it from the signature sheet or uninstall the app. Temporary export files are removed when practical after use and during later cleanup.
BrightScan excludes app-owned document content from system cloud backup where supported. Because there is no BrightScan account or server copy, Ronak Vir cannot remotely retrieve or delete documents stored on your device.
Permissions
- Camera access is used only when you choose a camera workflow.
- Photo and file access is used for items you choose through Apple's system pickers.
You can change permissions in the iOS or iPadOS Settings app. BrightScan does not request tracking permission and does not use the IDFA.
Purchases and attribution
Apple processes App Store purchases. BrightScan uses RevenueCat to manage product offerings, purchase status, and subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives commerce-related information and limited app or device information needed to provide that service; it does not receive your document content from BrightScan.
For installs attributed to Apple Ads, Apple's Standard AdServices attribution may provide limited campaign information to RevenueCat. BrightScan does not use ATT, the IDFA, detailed attribution, or a third-party advertising attribution SDK.
Diagnostics
Apple may provide system diagnostics through services such as MetricKit or Xcode Organizer, depending on your device settings. BrightScan is designed not to include document content, filenames, paths, passwords, signatures, recognized text, QR contents, or receipt values in its diagnostic messages.
Support messages and this website
If you contact support, Ronak Vir receives your email address and the information you choose to send. Support messages are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Do not send sensitive documents or passwords.
The provider hosting these pages may process ordinary web request data, such as an IP address, user agent, timestamp, and requested URL, for delivery, reliability, and security. BrightScan does not intentionally place advertising or product-analytics cookies on these pages.
Children
BrightScan is not directed to children under 13, and Ronak Vir does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Changes
This policy may be updated when BrightScan's practices change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is posted.
